Just in time for Halloween and Dia de los Muertos, we are excited to share a look behind the magic of “Coco,” the 2018 Academy Award winner for Best Animated Feature. In an all-new SIGGRAPH Now feature, Guilherme Jacinto, a directing animator at Disney Pixar, reveals insight into how the skeletons of “Coco” came to life.

SIGGRAPH Now is a series from SIGGRAPH conferences. While nothing replaces the in-person experience of SIGGRAPH Production Sessions, SIGGRAPH Now extends the production session experience for attendees and pulls back the curtain for those who have yet to join us.

SIGGRAPH 2019 will be held 28 July–1 August 2019 at the Los Angeles Convention Center. The call for submissions is now open and registration is set to open in March 2019. Still haven’t seen “Coco”? Check out its limited theatrical run through Halloween or watch the film on Netflix before it disappears.
