Community in Action: What to Expect from ACM SIGGRAPH at SIGGRAPH 2025

SIGGRAPH 2025 isn’t just a conference — it’s a celebration of the ACM SIGGRAPH community in full swing. From 10–14 August, the Vancouver Convention Centre (VCC) will be home not just to world-class innovation in computer graphics and interactive techniques, but to the people and programs that fuel this global, year-round movement.

At the heart of this experience are two special features: the ACM SIGGRAPH Village and the ACM SIGGRAPH 365 — Community Showcase. Whether you’re stepping into SIGGRAPH for the first time or you’ve been part of the community for decades, these are your gateways to connect, contribute, and be inspired.

The Village: A Commons for Connection

Located right at the entrance to the Vancouver Convention Centre, the ACM SIGGRAPH Village is your go-to hub for spontaneous conversations, big-picture insights, and informal meetups with Standing Committee members, Executive Committee leaders, and affiliated groups.

“The ACM SIGGRAPH Village is the space where the ACM SIGGRAPH community, which is each and every attendee, can come together and have informal conversations or obtain information about our great organization,” says Barbara Helfer, ACM SIGGRAPH Membership and Communications Chair.

Whether you’re curious about volunteer opportunities, navigating the conference, or just looking to meet fellow attendees, the Village offers a space that’s equal parts warm welcome and insider knowledge.

The ACM SIGGRAPH Village is open throughout the week during conference hours. Just follow the signs when you enter the VCC.

365 Community Showcase: Inspiration in Motion

Meanwhile, just upstairs in Rooms 208–209, the ACM SIGGRAPH 365 — Community Showcase brings the depth and diversity of the organization’s year-round work to life through curated sessions, discussions, and presentations.

Think of the Showcase as a stage for the volunteers, educators, creatives, and newcomers who keep SIGGRAPH moving forward.

“We worked very closely with each Standing Committee Chair to make sure that the content to present was relevant to the conference attendees, while transmitting the essence of each committee,” says Diana Arellano, SIGGRAPH 2025 EC Liaison.

What ties the Village and the Showcase together is their shared purpose: to reflect the dual nature of ACM SIGGRAPH — a year-round, volunteer-driven organization and a vibrant on-site community.

“Both programs are like two sides of a coin — one doesn’t exist without the other,” says Arellano. “They work together to show how we connect throughout the year, and how those connections come alive at the conference.”

Whether you’re attending a session on the future of education, diving into SIGGRAPH’s rich history, or chatting with a committee chair about ways to get involved, these experiences offer a deeper way to engage beyond the technical sessions.

How to Join In

  • Use the SIGGRAPH 2025 Mobile App to find Village and Showcase activities throughout the week.
  • Follow the signage on-site to easily locate the ACM SIGGRAPH Village and the Showcase upstairs in 208–209.
  • Join a session, strike up a chat, or just stop by.
